Russia Sugar-Beet Crop Seen by Union at 23 Million Tons

Russia’s sugar-beet crop reached 23 million metric tons this season, the country’s Sugar Producers Union said on its website.

Yields averaged 35.9 tons per hectare (2.47 acres) and the harvested area was 639,900 hectares, or 56 percent of the sown area, the union said yesterday.
