IRS Chief Douglas Shulman Sets Nov. 9 Departure Date

Douglas Shulman, the commissioner of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, will leave his job Nov. 9, the agency said today in Washington.

Shulman, 45, had announced his intention to leave office when his term expires. He became commissioner in March 2008.

Steven Miller, a deputy commissioner, will become acting commissioner until a new leader for the agency is nominated and confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
