Harvard Is Undefeated With 45-13 Ivy Conference Rout of Cornell
Colton Chapple passed for four touchdowns and ran for a fifth as undefeated Harvard University topped Cornell University 45-13 in an Ivy League Conference college football game.
Chapple hit Andrew Berg three times in the first half with scoring passes of 17 yards, nine yards and 15 yards to give Harvard a 21-0 lead yesterday at Harvard Stadium in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The Harvard quarterback connected with Ricky Zorn on a 24- yard pass in the fourth quarter, and ran four yards for the final score of the game with just under five minutes left.
Chapple completed 24 of 36 passing attempts for 362 yards.
David Mothander kicked a 20-yard field goal for the Crimson (4-0) in the third quarter and Treavor Scales dashed six yards for a touchdown in the final period.
Jeff Mathews hit Luke Tasker with a 3-yard pass for the Big Red’s first score in the second quarter and John Wells added a 25-yard field goal as Cornell (2-2) trailed 21-10 at halftime. Wells added a 42-yard scoring kick in the third quarter.
Mathews connected on 21 of 44 passing attempts for 307 yards.
In other games involving Ivy League teams, it was Dartmouth 34, Yale 14; Lehigh 35, Columbia 14; Brown 17, Rhode Island 7; William & Mary 34, Pennsylvania 28; and Princeton 35, Lafayette 14.
