Vettel Wins Fourth Straight Pole Position at Japanese Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel won pole position for tomorrow’s Japanese Grand Prix as he continues his chase for a third consecutive Formula One world title.

Vettel posted a time of 1 minute, 30.389 seconds to capture his fourth consecutive pole at Suzuka. Red Bull teammate Mark Webber starts next to him on the front row after qualifying second in 1:31.090.

Vettel won the most recent race in Singapore two weeks ago to move up to second in the standings, 29 points behind Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso with six races left in the season. Alonso qualified seventh today.

McLaren’s Jenson Button, Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi and Lotus’s Romain Grosjean round out the top five qualifiers.
