Altair Provides Battery Storage System to Puerto Rico Solar Farm

Altair Nanotechnologies Inc. (ALTI), a U.S. maker of lithium-ion batteries, agreed to sell a 2-megawatt storage system for a solar farm in Puerto Rico.

The system will be installed at the 26-megawatt San Fermin solar project that Uriel Renewables Inc. and Coqui Power LLC are jointly developing, Reno, Nevada-based Altair said today in a statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.

Canadian Solar Inc. said yesterday it’s supplying panels for the project.
