Vestas Wins 68-Megawatt Wind Turbine Order From SSE Farm in U.K.

Vestas Wind Systems A/S (VWS), the world’s biggest wind turbine maker, said it won a 68-megawatt order from a wind farm in eastern England owned by SSE Plc. (SSE)

SSE’s Keadby wind farm near Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire ordered 34 V90 2-megawatt turbines, Aarhus, Denmark-based Vestas said today in a statement on its website. Installation is due to start next summmer, with the project expected to be completed a year later, Vestas said.

When completed, the farm will be the largest onshore wind park in England, producing enough power for as many as 47,000 homes, Vestas said.
