New Zealand Ends 148-6 Against England in Twenty20 Cricket Game

New Zealand finished on 148-6 against defending champion England in their Super Eight game at cricket’s World Twenty20 championship in Sri Lanka.
James Franklin scored 50 as the Black Caps rebounded from a 42-3 start after winning the toss and electing to bat in Pallekele. Steve Finn took 3-16 for England.
Both New Zealand and England lost their opening games in Group 1 in the Super Eight round, where the teams are divided into two groups of four with the top two advancing to the semifinals. Host Sri Lanka plays West Indies later today in the other game in the group.
