Germany will begin to sell European Union carbon permits for the third phase of the bloc’s carbon market on Oct. 11 on the European Energy Exchange AG, according to a statement from the bourse.
EEX will sell a total of 23.5 million EU permits in weekly sales every Friday until Dec. 14, and as many as 85 million allowances through the first quarter of 2013, according to the statement. EEX will also sell EU aviation permits in two separate sales on Oct. 17 and Nov. 14, it said, without specifying a volume.
