Brazil Coffee Has Premature Flowering in Some Areas, CNC Says

Coffee crops in some areas of Brazil, the largest producer of the bean, experienced premature flowering this week for the 2013 crop, a producer’s association said today.

It is still too soon to say if the early flowering in areas of the southeastern states of Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo could hurt the next crop, the National Coffee Council said in an e-mailed report.
