Romania’s January-August Budget Deficit Widens

Romania’s budget deficit amounted to 7.11 billion lei ($2.03 billion), or 1.17 percent of gross domestic product, at the end of August, the Bucharest-based Finance Ministry said in a statement on its website today.

The January-July shortfall was 1.15 percent of GDP.
