Canada Conservative Lawmaker Says Wants Cnooc Conditions

Canadian lawmaker Rob Anders said today he is urging the Conservative government to put conditions on the proposed acquisition of Calgary-based Nexen Inc. (NXY) by Cnooc Ltd. (883)

Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Anders -- a Conservative who represents a Calgary district -- said the government’s conditions could include restricting Cnooc from transferring technology on oil-sands extraction outside the country.
