Rochelle on Dewey Settlement, Hostess, Digital Domain: Audio

Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP disclosed the names of 444 former partners contributing to the $71.5 million settlement with the defunct law firm. Bloomberg Law's Lee Pacchia and Bloomberg News bankruptcy columnist Bill Rochelle use their podcast to list the two dozen partners making the largest settlement contributions. The acrimony between Hostess Brands Inc. and the bakery workers' union could wreck the baker of Wonder bread, put thousands of workers out of jobs, and allow competitors to buy up famous trademarks at a fraction of the price required for buying the business. Rochelle asks whether the bonuses proposed for senior managers by Digital Domain Media Group Inc. (DDMGQ) is for work performed before or after the Chapter 11 filing. The podcast ends with discussion of a church reorganization that made law describing when a higher default rate of interest is enforceable in Massachusetts and when it isn't.
