ANZ Said to Hire Ex-RBS Banker Gulliver to Head Credit Trading

Australia & New Zealand Banking Group Ltd. (ANZ) hired ex-Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc banker Ben Gulliver as global head of credit trading, according to two people with knowledge of the matter said.

Gulliver, who was European head of credit at RBS, will move to Sydney from London to take up his new job next month, reporting to Richard Huston, head of markets, Asia Pacific, Europe and America, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the hiring hasn’t been made public.

Gulliver left Edinburgh-based RBS three months ago after eight years with the bank, the people said. Before that he was with Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse Group AG.

Kevin Foley, a spokesman for ANZ in Melbourne, couldn’t immediately be reached to comment outside of business hours in Sydney. Gulliver declined to be interviewed when contacted on his mobile telephone.
