Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Jean- Claude Juncker, who heads the group of euro-area finance ministers, travels to Russia next week for talks with President Vladimir Putin.
Juncker’s Sept. 24-27 visit includes a meeting with Putin in Moscow on Sept. 25, the Kremlin and Luxembourg government press services said today. Juncker travels to Russia at Putin’s invitation, according to a Kremlin statement.
The two leaders will discuss the crisis-fighting effort in the euro area and progress toward visa-free travel between Russia and the European Union, the Kremlin said.
A detailed program of Juncker’s trip will be released closer to the date, a Luxembourg official said on customary condition of anonymity.
