NHL’s Malkin, Gonchar Sign Lock-Out Deals With Russian Team

National Hockey League all-stars Evengi Malkin and Sergei Gonchar have signed deals allowing them to play for Russia’s Magnitogorsk Metallurg in the event of a work stoppage in the North American league, according to the Kontinental Hockey League club’s website.
The agreements fall within the scope of rules set by the league allowing ice time to players under contract in the NHL, according to the Metallurg statement.
