Peru Jobless Rate Rose to 6.7% Last Month, Government Says

Peru’s unemployment rate rose to 6.7 percent last month, compared with 6.2 percent in July, the national statistics agency said today in an e-mailed report.

Economists predicted a rate of 6.4 percent, according to the median estimate of six analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. The unemployment rate is a three-month moving average based on a survey conducted by the agency in the Lima metropolitan area.
