Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Barack Obama discussed Iran’s suspected atomic weapons program amid a rift between the two nations over how to confront the Iranian security threat.
WHAT TO WATCH: * Central Bureau of Statistics is expected to post the trade balance for August. EQUITY MOVERS: * IDB Holding Corporation Ltd. (IDBH IT): Controlling shareholder Ganden Holdings Ltd. is in talks to receive an investment, Calcalist reported. * Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (MLNX IT), an Israeli maker of technology used to transfer and store data, gained in the U.S. yesterday amid speculation a two-day, 15 percent slump was overdone. MARKETS: * The TA-25 Index slipped 0.1 percent to 1,130.71 yesterday. * The yield on the Mimshal Shiklit government bonds due January 2022 was at 4.28 percent. * The shekel strengthened 0.1 percent to 3.9485 a dollar at 8:12 a.m. in Tel Aviv. * Corn for December advanced 0.5 percent to $7.8175 a bushel. * Crude oil for October delivery was little changed at $97.16 a barrel. * Gold for immediate delivery rose 0.2 percent to $1,736.27 an ounce.
