Rochelle on Solyndra, LightSquared, Judge Allan Gropper: Audio

Is the Chapter 11 plan for Solyndra LLC truly a reorganization so stockholders can shelter income with tax losses in future years? That's a question that Bloomberg Law's Lee Pacchia and Bloomberg New bankruptcy columnist Bill Rochelle explore on their podcast. LightSquared Inc. could find itself being the third major company inside a month to have an executive bonus plan nixed by a bankruptcy judge, for reasons Rochelle explains. He lauds U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Allan Gropper for having an opinion of his adopted by a federal circuit court of appeals. The podcast ends with discussion of three newly-bankrupt companies that could be acquisition targets. They are in the bakery, hotel and green energy businesses.
