IFC May Lend $19 Million to India's NSL for Wind Project
International Finance Corp., the World Bank’s private-sector financing arm, may provide a $19 million loan to India’s NSL Group for a wind farm in the western state of Maharashtra.
NSL plans to build the 75-megawatt project using 50 turbines made by ReGen Powertech Pvt., India’s third-biggest supplier, according to an investment proposal on IFC’s website. The total project cost is $93 million.
The farm will be located at Chilarwadi village in Satara district. The loan proposal will go to the IFC board on Oct. 8, according to the website.
Private equity fund FE Clean Energy Group Inc. holds a 17.4 percent stake in the NSL unit developing the project and the IFC has a 9.3 percent stake, according to the proposal.
