Russia to Boost Control Over Gazprom Spending, Kommersant Says

Russian government officials may resume participation in managing OAO Gazprom a year after then- President Dmitry Medvedev urged the bureaucrats to quit serving on the board of directors, Kommersant reported.
The government intends setting up committees on strategy and on investments at Gazprom, and the state official on the board will monitor the company’s spending plans more closely, the newspaper said, citing unidentified people.
