The Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to a nine-player trade, Major League Baseball’s website reported.
Boston sends first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, pitcher Josh Beckett, outfielder Carl Crawford and infielder Nick Punto to Los Angeles, while receiving first baseman James Loney and four prospects: pitchers Rubby De La Rosa and Allen Webster, infielder Ivan De Jesus and outfielder Jerry Sands, MLB.com said.
The deal is pending approval from baseball officials, MLB.com said. Gonzazlez today posted on his Twitter account that he’s joining the Dodgers.
“Excited to get back to Cali and be a part of Dodgertown,” he wrote on Twitter.
