Apple Rises in Late Trading After Verdict in Samsung Patent Case
Apple Inc. (AAPL) rose in late trading after the company scored a victory in a patent dispute against Samsung Electronics Co.
A California jury found that Samsung infringed six of seven patents for mobile devices and awarded Apple more than $1.05 billion in damages.
Shares climbed to as high as $675.94 in late trading as the verdicts were delivered in federal court in San Jose, California. The stock had climbed less than 1 percent to $663.22 at the close today in New York.
