Vera Zvonareva Drops Out of U.S. Open Tennis With Viral Illness
Russian Vera Zvonareva, who lost the U.S. Open final to Kim Clijsters in 2010, dropped out of this year’s tournament with a viral illness, U.S. Tennis Association spokesman Tim Curry said.
Zvonareva, 27, was a Wimbledon finalist in 2010, losing to Serena Williams. She is ranked 16th in the world.
