Brazil to Offer 16% Pay Increase to Civil Servants, Estado Says

Brazil will offer 15.8 percent salary increases to striking civil workers, newspaper O Estado de Sao Paulo reported, citing union official Josemilton Costa.
The pay increase was offered to 18 of the 36 civil servant categories that are striking, the Sao Paulo-based newspaper reported. The government also offered a 15.8 percent pay raise to federal police workers, after they struck for 24 hours this week, the newspaper said.
