UCLA’s Muhammad Will Miss China Trip, Sports Illustrated Reports

Shabazz Muhammad won’t take part in the University of California, Los Angeles’ three-game basketball trip to China after he was declared ineligible, Sports Illustrated reported, citing a source familiar with the plan.

The freshman is under investigation by the National Collegiate Athletic Association for accepting improper benefits from family friends, the magazine said.

Muhammad said he expected to be cleared in time for the regular season, Sports Illustrated said.
