Brazil to Have ‘Moderate’ El Nino Until October, Ministry Says

The El Nino weather phenomenon will have a “moderate” effect in Brazil through October, causing above-average rain in agricultural areas in the south, west and southeast regions, the Agriculture Ministry said today.

Forecast rain during soy planting will benefit production of the oilseed in southern Brazil, the Ministry said in an e- mailed report today, citing government forecaster Inmet.
