Egypt’s Prosecutor Refers Two Journalists to Court on Violations

Egypt’s public prosecutor referred the head of a satellite channel and the editor-in-chief of an independent newspaper to court on charges of incitement to kill the president and fueling sectarian strife, according to a statement it e-mailed today.

Tawfik Okasha, the head of the Al-Faraeen channel, faces allegations of incitement to kill President Mohamed Mursi and publicly insulting him, while Islam Afifi, the editor-in-chief of Al-Dastour is accused of publishing rumors and false news, according to an e-mailed statement.
