Ernesto Moves onto Land as Tropical Depression Forms in Atlantic

Tropical Storm Ernesto moved out of Mexico’s Bay of Campeche and onto land at about 2 p.m. East Coast time, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said. The system is expected to dissipate within 48 hours.

A tropical depression developed in the Atlantic about 1,155 miles (1,858 kilometers) east of the Windward Islands. It is moving west at 20 miles per hour and may become a tropical storm tomorrow, the center said.
