CTC Media’s CTC TV Audience Drops in Russia, TNS-Global Says

CTC Media Inc. (CTCM)’s CTC television channel saw its average daily share of Russian viewers aged 4 years and older retreat in the week to Aug. 5, according to TNS- Global.

Viewer share for CTC TV, the Nasdaq-listed Russian media company’s biggest source of revenue, fell to 5.4 percent in the week to Aug. 5 from 5.8 percent a week earlier, data researcher TNS-Global said by e-mail today. CTC fell to seventh most- watched TV channel in the country in the week to Aug. 5, as Rossiya-2 and Fifth Channel gained viewer share, the data show.

CTC’s average daily audience among viewers 18 years old and over fell to 5 percent from 5.2, the data show. CTC declined to eight place from seventh in that viewer category, TNS-Global said.

Russia’s NTV Television, Rossiya-1 and Pervyi Kanal were the top three most watched in both categories. TNT TV, Rossiya-2 and Fifth Channel placed ahead of CTC among viewers 4 years and older, the data show. Rossiya-2, TNT TV, Fifth Channel and REN TV outpaced CTC among viewers 18 years and older in the week to Aug. 5, the data showed.
