India Asks Mills to Sell 400,000 Tons Sugar in August

India, the world’s second-biggest sugar producer, asked mills to sell an additional 400,000 metric tons in the open market in August, the food ministry said in an e-mailed statement today.

The country will have 5.17 million tons of sugar available in the July-September period for sale in the open market, it said.
