Husky Energy Probing Platform Fire Cause Off Newfoundland

Husky Energy Inc. (HSE) is investigating a fire in a pump room on its SeaRose oil platform off the coast of Newfoundland.

The fire was noticed shortly after 5 p.m. yesterday, according to a Canadian Press report. There were no injuries and no evacuation was necessary. The fire was contained in the pump room.

Damage is still being assessed, according to the release. The platform shut for maintenance this summer, and is not currently producing oil.
