Hungarian Budget Shortfall Narrows to 76% of Annual Target

Hungary’s budget deficit narrowed to 75.9 percent of the annual target at the end of last month after a surplus in July, the Economy Ministry said.

The shortfall amounted to 437.5 billion forint ($1.96 billion) in January-July this year after the budget booked a surplus of 80.2 billion forint in July, the Budapest-based Economy Ministry said in an e-mailed statement today.
