Ernesto Becomes Hurricane in Caribbean Off Yucatan Coast

Hurricane Ernesto developed today in the Caribbean off the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

The storm, with top winds of 80 miles (129 kilometers) an hour, is expected to make landfall between Chetumal, Mexico, and the island of Cozumel late today or early tomorrow, the center said.
