Tesco to Use Consumer Data to Judge Home Loans: Sunday Times

Tesco Plc (TSCO), the U.K.’s largest retailer, plans to use shopping data to assess customers’ suitability for home loans, the Sunday Times reported, citing comments from a company executive.

Using the data “we can make a better assessment of risk,” Benny Higgins, the chief executive officer of Tesco Bank, said, according to the newspaper. “It’s about simplicity, about transparency, about rewarding loyalty,” the report said.
