Keiyo Ethylene to Resume Chiba Plant Tomorrow After Repairs

Keiyo Ethylene Co., a privately owned Japanese petrochemical company, will resume operations tomorrow at its 690,000 metric-ton-a-year naphtha cracker in Chiba near Tokyo.
The plant closed on July 24 for unspecified repairs, according to Katsuma Shimizu, a spokesman for Maruzen Petrochemical Co., Keiyo’s majority shareholder. Shimizu spoke by phone today from Tokyo.
