Kyocera Corp. (6971), a Japanese solar- panel maker, formed a joint venture with partners including KDDI Corp. (9433) and IHI Corp. (7013) to build a 27 billion yen ($345 million) 70- megawatt power plant in the south of the country.
Mizuho Corporate Bank Ltd. will help arrange loans for the solar plant, Kyocera said today in a statement.
They will begin construction in September and finish by the autumn of 2013, Kyocera said. The partners also include Kyudenko Corp. (1959), Takenaka Corp., Bank of Kyoto Ltd. (8369) and Kagoshima Bank Ltd. (8390) Kyocera announced an initial agreement in April.
