Apple’s Forstall, Schiller to Testify at Samsung Patent Trial

Apple Inc. (AAPL) senior executives Scott Forstall and Phil Schiller are among the officials the company said will be called to testify at a patent trial against Samsung Electronic Co. set to begin next week.

Forstall, the senior vice president in charge of the software that runs on Apple’s iPhone and iPad, and Schiller, the senior executive in charge of marketing, were on a witness list provided by Apple.

At the trial, Cupertino, California-based Apple, and Suwon, South Korea-based Samsung, the world’s two biggest makers of smartphones, accuse each other of copying designs and technology for mobile devices. The trial is set to begin July 30.

The case is Apple Inc. v. Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., 11-cv-1846, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California

(San Jose).
