A venture of Greece’s GEK Terna SA (GEKTERNA) and Italy’s Impregilo SpA (IPG) was chosen as preferred bidder for a 566 million euro ($682.9 million) project to build a new national opera house in Athens, Kathimerini said.
Construction of the opera, to be privately funded by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, will begin by the end of this year and concluded in 2016, the Athens-based newspaper reported today without citing anyone.
