Vietnam Stocks: Binh Dinh Minerals, Ho Chi Minh City Securities
Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnamese trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 2:15 p.m. close in Ho Chi Minh City. The VN Index (VNINDEX), the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, rose 0.9 percent to 417.55, the highest since July 2.
Binh Dinh Minerals Joint-Stock Co. (BMC) , a miner and trader of metal ores, gained 4.6 percent to 50,500 dong, the highest level since May 22. Second-quarter net income rose 46 percent to 30.7 billion dong ($1.5 million), according to a statement on the bourse’s website.
Ho Chi Minh City Securities Corp. (HCM) , the biggest stock brokerage by market share, climbed 4.8 percent to 21,700 dong, the highest price since June 18. The company’s second- quarter profit surged 76 percent to 82.4 billion dong, according to an exchange filing.
National Seed Joint-Stock Co. (NSC) , which exports products such as rice seeds, added 1.1 percent to 38,000 dong. SSI Real Estate Investment Joint-Stock Co. bought a 9.5 percent stake in the company, according to an exchange filing.
