Persian Gulf Stocks: Sahara Petrochemical and Alhokair

Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share Index declined 0.8 percent to 6,588.81, the lowest since June 27, at the close in Riyadh.

The following shares are active in the Persian Gulf region. Stock symbols are in parentheses.

Sahara Petrochemical Co. (SPC) dropped as much as 1.2 percent to 12.55 riyals before paring declines to close at 12.60 riyals. Net income fell to 54.3 million riyals ($9 million) from 209 million riyals in the year-earlier period, according to a statement to the Saudi bourse.

Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair & Co. (ALHOKAIR) climbed 4.6 percent, the most since July 7, to 85.75 riyals. Second-quarter profit increased to 121 million riyals, the company said in a regulatory filing yesterday.
