Mexico’s Sugar Output Estimated at 5.3 Million Tons in 2012-13

Mexico’s sugar output will climb 5 percent in the 2012-13 season that starts in October, according to industry group Union Nacional de Caneros.
Production will rise to 5.3 million tons from about 5 million tons in 2011-12, the group said in a statement e-mailed July 13. Harvesting of the 2011-12 season that ends Sept. 30 is completed, it said.
