Thailand Stocks: Airports of Thailand, Asia Aviation, Thai Air

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Bangkok.

The SET Index (SET) rose 1.4 percent to 1,210.29, the highest close since May 8. The gauge gained 0.9 percent this week, a third weekly advance.

Tourism-related companies: Airports of Thailand Pcl (AOT TB), the nation’s largest airport operator, climbed 3.1 percent to 66.50, the highest close since November 2006. Asia Aviation Pcl (AAV) , the parent of the nation’s largest budget carrier, gained 2.3 percent to 3.64 baht. Thai Airways International Pcl (THAI) , the nation’s biggest carrier, increased 1.5 percent to 20.90 baht, the most since June 15.

The number of passengers at Suvarnabhumi international airport in June jumped 15 percent from a year earlier to 4.03 million, according to data on Airports of Thailand’s website.

PTT Pcl (PTT) , Thailand’s largest oil company, gained 1.5 percent to 334 baht, the highest close since July 6. Crude oil added as much as 60 cents to $86.68 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Sriracha Construction Pcl (SRICHA) rose 2.7 percent to 19.40 baht, the largest increase since July 5. The company won a 202.5 million baht ($6.4 million) contract for the fabrication of steel structures, it said in a regulatory filing.
