U.K. Mortgage Advances Rose 33% in May From April, CML Says

U.K. mortgage advances rose 33 percent in May from the previous month, the Council of Mortgage Lenders said today.

Banks advanced 48,300 loans for house purchase in May, up 24 percent from a year earlier, the CML said in an e-mailed statement.
