The IGBC Index (IGBC) fell 1.2 percent to 13,508.03 while the Colcap Index dropped 1.3 percent to 1,644.65.
AviancaTaca Holding SA (PFAVTA) , the owner of Colombia’s biggest airline by passenger miles, gained 1.2 percent to 4,060 pesos. AviancaTaca said its board approved accounting changes for some of its units that will add about 111 billion pesos ($62 million) to the company’s net income for the quarter ended in June, according to a regulatory filing late yesterday.
Ecopetrol SA (ECOPETL) , Colombia’s largest oil company, fell 1.6 percent to 4,930 pesos, the lowest close in two weeks. Gran Tierra Energy Inc. said its second-quarter production was reduced by disruptions in Ecopetrol’s Transandino pipeline in southern Colombia.
Bolsa de Valores de Colombia SA (BVC CB), the operator of the country’s main stock exchange, increased 0.7 percent to 29.50 pesos, the highest close in three weeks. The company gained for the second day after saying net income rose 21 percent to 17.3 billion pesos ($9.7 million) in the first six months of the year in a report on its website July 10.
