The following companies are having unusual price changes in Mexico City trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 11 a.m. local time.
The IPC index rose 0.3 percent to 40,168.46.
Grupo Aeromexico SAB de CV (AEROMEX* MM) rose 0.7 percent to 22.24 pesos, heading for a ninth straight gain. The Mexican airline reported a 6.1 percent increase in passengers for the first half of the year.
Grupo Marti SAB (GMARTI*) rose 1.9 percent to 11 pesos. Investor Alfredo Harp Helu offered to buy all the company’s shares in circulation for 11.80 pesos each. The proposed transaction depends on approval from the National Banking and Securities Commission, Grupo Marti said yesterday in a statement to the stock exchange.
Grupo Televisa SAB (TLEVICPO) , the world’s largest Spanish-language broadcaster, rose 0.9 percent to 57.57 pesos. Sales increased 12 percent in the second quarter to 17 billion pesos, according to a filing sent by the company to Mexico’s stock exchange yesterday. The total beat the average estimate of 16.6 billion pesos among seven analysts surveyed by Bloomberg.
