Persian Gulf Stocks: BankMuscat and Bank Sohar in Oman

Abu Dhabi’s ADX General Index (ADSMI) rose less than 0.1 percent to 2,476.88, headed for the highest close since June 26, at 10:52 a.m. in the emirate. Dubai’s benchmark DFM General Index lost 0.2 percent and Oman’s MSM30 Index (MSM30) declined 0.1 percent.

The following shares were active in the Persian Gulf region. Stock symbols are in parentheses.

BankMuscat SAOG (BKMB) fell for a second day, decreasing 1.3 percent to 0.543 rial. Oman’s biggest bank by assets starts a share rights offer from today through July 23.

Bank Sohar (BKSB) was poised for the biggest advance since May 30, rising 1.4 percent to 0.149 rial. The Omani lender posted a 50 percent increase in first-half profit as loans and deposits rose.
