Polish Stocks: KGHM Polska Miedz, PGNiG Shares Are Active
Poland’s WIG20 Index (WIG20) advanced 0.7 percent to 2,270.54 as the close in Warsaw, extending its gain this year to 5.9 percent.
The following were among the most active equities on the Warsaw Stock Exchange today. Stock symbols follow company names.
KGHM Polska Miedz SA (KGH) rose 2.7 percent to 150 zloty, the highest since March 19. Copper added to its six-week high in London on investor expectations central banks from China to Europe will move to stoke economic growth, bolstering demand.
Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (PGN PW) gained 0.7 percent to 4.07 zloty, the most in a week. Poland’s dominant gas company known as PGNiG wants OAO Gazprom to reduce prices quoted in its long-term contract by 20 percent, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna reported, without saying where it got the information.
