Markel Acquires IDRECO as Insurer Adds Dredging In Europe

Markel Corp. (MKL), the Virginia-based insurer, said it acquired IDRECO GmbH to expand its dredging business to sand and gravel mining in Europe.

IDRECO, based in Heerenberg, the Netherlands, will be part of Markel’s Ellicott Dredge Enterprises, the insurer said today in a PR Newswire statement that didn’t disclose terms.
