Pena Nieto Leads in Mexico Election With 40.3%, Televisa Says

Mexican presidential candidate Enrique Pena Nieto leads his rivals in today’s election as he seeks to propel the once-dominant Institutional Revolutionary Party back to power, TV network Televisa said, citing Consulta Mitofsky projections.

Pena Nieto has 40.3 percent of the vote, leading Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador of the Democratic Revolution Party, who has 31.8 percent, and Josefina Vazquez Mota of the ruling National Action Party, with 25.4 percent, Mexico City-based polling company Mitofsky projected, based on its preliminary vote count.
