U.K. Stocks Decline as Investors Await EU Summit

U.K. stocks declined for the fifth day in six as European Union leaders prepared for a two-day summit beginning today to discuss actions to contain the region’s sovereign-debt crisis.
The benchmark FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.3 percent to 5,508.01 at 8:48 a.m. in London. Evraz Plc (EVR) fell 2.4 percent to 242.9 pence, the biggest loss among shares listed on the gauge.
